Dr. Khan joined the department in 2010, with a joint appointment in Africana Studies. His current projects include a complete symbolic history of Jackie Robinson, an essay on the public disagreement between Jackie Robinson and Malcolm X in 1962, and an attempt to theorize the performative dimensions of racial discourse.
